1. The African Union (AU) has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of financing Institutional Capacity Building for the African Union Commission
(AUC) project, and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for Consulting Services for the development of an African Union Institutional Policy for Mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change and Other
Environmental Considerations into African Union Commission Programmes and Projects.
2. The services to be provided under the Assignment include:-conducting a detailed assessment on the status of integration of disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation
and environmental issues respectively into AUC existing policies, plans and programs across all departments and identify opportunities and solutions to gaps identified. And to develop an
institutional policy document on mainstreaming disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation and environmental issues into AUC’s policies, plans and programmes.
3. African Union Commission (AUC) now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. The detail Terms of Reference for the assignment can be obtained from the African Union Commission web site at the following Link
https://au.int/en/bids. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform
the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint ventures
to enhance their chances of qualification.
4. Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the Procurement Policy Framework for Bank Group Funded Operations Rules and Procedures for the use of Consultants October 2015 which is available on the Bank’s website at
http://www.afdb.org.
