AFD currently has limited in-house geothermal technical expertise and therefore seeks specialized support to assist in project identification, screening, technical due diligence, preparation and supervision of geothermal studies and procurement activities. In this context, AFD is procuring the services of a Geothermal Expert to support the TA Leader for SOEs and AFD teams in:
- Providing technical guidance and strategic oversight on geothermal initiatives;
- Reviewing technical studies and project documentation;
- Supporting procurement and preparation of geothermal-related studies;
- Supervising studies financed under IETF;
- Supporting technical dialogue with PLN, GDE and other stakeholders;
- Providing strategic and technical recommendations regarding geothermal development in Indonesia.

The services may be provided either by an individual expert or by a consulting company mobilizing several geothermal specialists under the coordination of a lead expert acting as the main interlocutor and focal point with AFD.

The Consultant is expected to provide support consistent with international geothermal industry practices and DFI requirements.
