1. The Athi Water Works Development Agency, a state corporation under the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and
Irrigation (MWS&I), has received funds from the Agence Française de Développement (the French Development
Agency) towards the cost of the Nairobi Water and Sanitation Project (NWSP). It is intended that
part of the proceeds of these funds will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Supply and
Delivery of Operational Vehicles in Lots.
2. The Athi Water Works Development Agency now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the procurement
of: -
i) AWWDA/AFD/NWSP/G-02/2022 Lot 3(a) – Supply and Delivery of 1 No. 4X4 WD Single Cabin
with Passenger Van Body
ii) AWWDA/AFD/NWSP/G-02/2022 Lot 3(b) – Supply and Delivery of 1 No. Heavy Duty Utility
Pick Up 4x4 Single Cab 1-1.5 Ton, Diesel 4000-
4200cc (converted to 10-Seater Station Wagon)
iii) AWWDA/AFD/NWSP/G-02/2022 Lot 3(c) – Supply and Delivery of 20No. Motor Cycle Trail

iv) AWWDA/AFD/NWSP/G-02/2022 Lot 3(d) - Supply and Delivery of 7-8 Ton Capacity Truck with
high Sided Superstructure Body with Canvas

3. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at
the office of The Chief Executive Officer, Athi Water Works Development Agency, Athi Water Plaza,
Muthaiga North Rd, Off Kiambu Road, and P.O. Box 45283-00100 Nairobi, Kenya.
4. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written
application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of KES. 1,000.00 (Kenya Shillings
One Thousand Only). Documents can also be downloaded from the AWWDA website: www.awwda.go.ke
and www.tenders.go.ke, Bidders who download the bidding document from the website MUST forward
their particulars immediately to procurement@awwda.go.ke, for records and any further clarifications and
addenda.
5. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of
the Agence Française de Développement’s Bidding Documents for Procurement of Goods.
6. Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 12.00pm East African Time on - Tuesday 10th
January 2023 and must be accompanied by a bid security in form of an Unconditional Bank Guarantee
in the amount of: -
i. Lot 3(a) – KES 93,260.00 (Kenya Shillings Ninety-Three Thousand, Two Hundred and Sixty)
ii. Lot 3(b) – KES 150,200.00 (Kenya Shillings One Hundred and Fifty Thousand, Two Hundred)
iii. Lot 3(c) – KES 233,624.00 (Kenya Shillings Two Hundred and Thirty-Three Thousand, Six Hundred
and
Twenty-Four)
iv. Lot 3(d) - KES 153,502.00 (Kenya Shillings One Hundred and Fifty-Three Thousand, Five Hundred

8. Qualification criteria are as follows:
a) Certified copy of the Certificate of Incorporation and a valid Tax Compliance Certificate
b) Financial capability- Demonstrated minimum average annual turnover of
i. Lot 3(a) – Kenya Shillings 15 million
ii. Lot 3(b) – Kenya Shillings 15 million
iii. Lot 3(c) – Kenya Shillings 10 million
iv. Lot 3(d) – Kenya Shillings 30 million
c) Experience and Technical Capacity – Experience as Supplier, in at least (2) contracts within the last
five (5) years, that have been successfully and substantially completed and that are similar to the
proposed Goods and Related Services. The similarity shall be based on the physical size, complexity,
methods/technology or other characteristics each with a value of at least
i. Lot 3(a) – Kenya Shillings 10 million
ii. Lot 3(b) – Kenya Shillings 10 million
iii. Lot 3(c) – Kenya Shillings 5 million
iv. Lot 3(d) – Kenya Shillings 15 million
d) The bidder shall provide documentary evidence that the Goods offered meet the requirements
stipulated in the specifications.
