The project aims to promote investments in renewable energy and facilitate the early retirement of coal-fired power plants (CFPPs). The project focuses on developing innovative incentive mechanisms that align with the government's plan to introduce new energy transition incentives through the Ministry of Finance. Incentive mechanisms for power projects vary depending on the specific goals and circumstances of the project, as well as the regulatory and economic environment in which it operates. Through this project, incentive mechanisms will be proposed considering policy objectives, technology type, market and regulatory environment, economic viability, technology advancement, economic development, and incentive flexibility, with the ultimate goal of attracting investments into renewable energy and coal decommissioning projects whilst maintaining macroeconomic stability.
